Changes

There have been several changes since I started school that have been very difficult to adapt to. However, the greatest challenge had to be coming back to a school setting after being out of it for a few years.

When I was a junior in high school, my parents separated. This hit me pretty hard since they had always been such a good couple until that year. Well, I reacted very badly, as alot of boys my age would have, and started rebelling against everything I had believed in my whole life. Well, by the time my senior year started, I had made up my mind to move to Washington with my dad. Well, it wasn't really that I made up my mind so much as my mind was made up for me. Since my Mom and I weren't talking, I thought it was the only option I had. Well, anyway, to make a long story short, I moved to Washington where I had planned to finish school, but when I checked into the school, they said that some of my credits wouldn't transfer. It was going to take me two years to finish my senior year! So I just went to work. I worked from my senior year in high school, 2002, until fall of 2005 when I finally decided to go back to school. I got my GED and came to butler. So the most difficult thing about coming to college was just going from a situation where I got up every morning and went to work instead of school. It was very difficult for me to sit through a full day of school for the first month or so. But soon, I adjusted and now I love school.
